Sammy is a 10 week old maltese terrier mix. He is a little spitfire with a whole lot of energy! Sammy is like a big energetic dog in a tiny dog’s body! Sammy was red listed at the shelter and thankfully, rescued in time by Chiquita’s Friends, a 501c3 nonprofit rescue group partnered with Beagle Freedom Project. Since then, Sammy has seen a cardiologist who confirmed he has a heart murmur, an enlarged heart and left sided congestive heart failure. Fortunately, Sammy can live a normal healthy life after he weighs enough for heart surgery.

Sammy is lovable, sweet and friendly with all animals! He loves dogs of all sizes, plays with kitties and has even met BFP rabbits! Sammy would thrive in a home with children since he is highly energetic and playful. He always wants to be around people and loves being held, cuddled and loved on!
