Are you a tennis ball? You may have just found the dog who will love you unconditionally. Martha May really loves nothing more than a good ol’ tennis ball. The brand doesn’t matter, the age doesn’t matter, she just wants to put you in her mouth and chew until you’re nothing but bits of fuzz and rubber. Then she’ll move on to the next one.

Martha obviously also likes people, but mainly because they provide her with an unending supply of her favorite toys. It makes sense because where Martha came from, she had no toys to occupy her time. She was rescued from a laboratory where she wasn’t allowed to be the fun-loving dog that she is, she was just a number. Now that she’s had a taste of the real world, Martha finds that what she was so clearly missing before is one of the things that she appreciates most.

Martha is fine with sharing space with other dogs who are a bit bigger than her, but her love affair with toys takes precedence over her affections towards other dogs. She may be best as an only dog, or a companion to a friend who respects that those toys that she craves are more important to her than anything else.

This sassy gal’s ideal home would be a very patient home that will allow her plenty of time and space to get over her traumatic past. She will become a sweet and loving companion, but she’ll do it on her own time. An active home is also a must for her. She loves hiking, walking and playing, so she needs someone who will keep up!
