Heigh ho, heigh ho. . .it’s back to Boston we go. We keep on smiling as we meet another insanely adorable pup with an insanely adorable story. From the Beantown Beagles rescue, we present:

Ella!

BFP: How did your family find you?
Ella: My mom’s friend (Betty, Teddy’s mom) was fostering me. Betty was also dog sitting Sammi (my soon to be greyhound sister). Betty would send pictures of us sitting together with my mom. Who could resist the sweetest beagle in the world?

BFP: How did you get your name?
Ella: My foster mom named me after her grandmother. Betty’s grandmother was her most favorite person in the world. Knowing that how could anyone change my name?

BFP: What kind of life did you have before us?
Ella: I was 18 months old when I was released from the lab. I do not want to remember the time I spent there. What I do know is that this April I will be celebrating four years of freedom!

BFP: Where do you live?
Ella: I live in Lynn, Massachusetts. I love the four seasons here. Sunbathing on my deck in the summer, running through the leaves in the fall, plowing my nose through the snow, and rolling on the grass in the spring especially if the grass has bird poop on it. I love that! My favorite time to roll is after a bath.

BFP: How would you describe your perfect day?
Ella: A day filled with walks, naps, belly rubs and food!

BFP: What do you call yourself?
Ella: My mom calls me the sweetest beagle in the whole world and I would agree with that!

BFP: If you had a job, what would it be?
Ella: Any job that is food related. I do love pizza crust so anything that involves pizza would be perfect for me.

BFP: What do you do when your family is not home?
Ella: I nap mostly. I have several beds with blankets in them so can burrow under the blankets. I take over the greyhound’s bed. There’s plenty of room for both of us, but Sammi would rather sleep on the floor than snuggle with me. I did sneak in the bed with her a few times. My mom has the proof in pictures.

BFP: What do you and the other dogs in the home talk about?
Ella: Sammi and I have discussed chasing the backyard squirrels. She has even shown me how to do the squirrel sighting dance.

BFP: What is your favorite memory?
Ella: Meeting my family. They love me so much. My human brothers are always giving me belly rubs, scratching my ears and holding me. When their friends drop by I, get all the attention!

BFP: Any favorite things?
Ella: I love small stuffed toys. I throw them up in the air and catch them. I carry one with me when we go on our walks. I lose them, so my mom is always coming home with a new toy for me. My favorite treat is my Kong with baby food in it. My veterinarian suggested this treat for me since I have gained a few pounds in the past few years.

BFP: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Ella: I do not like wearing coats! This includes Halloween costumes, harnesses and bandanas too. When my mom puts a coat or harness on me, I flop down and lie still. I will not move. My mom has tried everything, but I refuse to move. It doesn’t matter how cute I look I am not wearing it. I am cute without clothes.

BFP: Who is your best friend?
Ella: I love seeing my neighborhood friends Jake (Bernese Mountain dog) and Youkie (Japanese Chin) on our walks. They are the only dogs with whom I have any interest in playing. I crouch down, wag my tail and bark when I see them.

BFP: Nicknames:
Ella: My mom calls me Ella Bella, Sweet Pea, Love Bug and of course The “Sweetest Beagle in the Whole World.”

BFP: Something you do that makes your family laugh:
Ella: My meal time dance. I twirl, jump and spin when it’s time to eat. This makes everyone laugh. I give it my all when it comes to food!

BFP: One word to describe you:
Ella: Cute
